Senior Business Developement Manager (Corporate & General Insurance Focus, RO) #RHK

Responsibilities

  • Act as Responsible Officer (General & Long Term Business) with management responsibilities and duties to supervise IA regulated activities of the company, with a strategic focus on Corporate General Insurance (GI) and Employee Benefits (EB) portfolios
  • Hands-on business development and execution: Develop strategic plan for B2B insurance business to achieve business goals. Proactively drive initiatives for business growth, including commercial risk assessment, tender/bidding management, negotiating terms with underwriters, and market expansion for large enterprise clients
  • Setup internal policies, procedures and controls to ensure compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, codes, guidelines and other regulatory requirements
  • Establish workflows and systems that assist in risk controls and compliance management
  • Supervise and manage daily operations. Ensure the end-to-end broking process—from client inquiry, risk placement, policy administration, to claims handling—operates smoothly and in compliance with regulations
  • Periodically review insurance businesses, products and resources allocation to improve operation efficiency
  • Communicate with the Insurance Authority when needed and support to answer any queries or requests from the IA

Job requirements:

  • A degree and/or professional qualification in business, insurance, or related disciplines.
  • Certifications (Mandatory): Holder of a valid Hong Kong Responsible Officer (RO) qualification and IIQE Papers 1, 2, 3.
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in insurance brokerage or corporate insurance industry with at least 2 years of managerial experience. A proven track record in General Insurance (Commercial Lines) and/or Employee Benefits is a MUST.
  • Extensive, hands-on experience dealing with large corporate/enterprise clients (B2B). Candidates with purely individual life insurance or personal wealth management (B2C) backgrounds will NOT be considered.
  • Strong analytical, leadership, and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with and influence senior executives and key decision-makers at corporate clients
  • Fluency (written and spoken) in English and Chinese (both Cantonese and Mandarin) is essential.
